Our Story

SÀIN is a contemporary Vietnamese footwear brand creating sculptural silhouettes inspired by the materials and makers of Vietnam. Designed and handcrafted in Ho Chi Minh City, every pair brings together genuine leather and solid chinaberry wood through a process that celebrates the beauty of natural materials and contemporary design.

Why SÀIN?

Pronounced "Sane," SÀIN is named after Saigon, the city where the brand was born. It is a tribute to the culture, people and makers that have shaped both its founder and the brand itself; a city whose generations of skilled makers have helped shape the global fashion industry. By carrying its name, SÀIN reflects a new generation of contemporary Vietnamese design.

A Global Perspective. From Vietnam.

The idea for SÀIN came while searching for manufacturers overseas. It became clear that the materials, makers and expertise the brand was looking for had been in Vietnam all along.

From the beginning, SÀIN has drawn on these existing strengths, bringing together traditional making techniques with a contemporary design language.

Reimagining Vietnamese craftsmanship.

Every pair combines genuine leather with individually shaped chinaberry wood heels, bringing together traditional making techniques and contemporary design. Variations in the natural grain, colour and texture are an inherent characteristic of the materials, making every pair subtly unique.

Produced in small batches, each collection is carefully refined through every stage of production to preserve the craftsmanship and qualities of the materials.
